Tommy Edwards Photography in Seattle | The woman as art
What greater beauty is there in the universe: Than a woman....absolutely none

Side note:

Inspiration: A conversation with a woman that has to remain nameless, because i am certain she is well known in the Seattle area. Always in the back of her bucket list she had wanted tasteful nude portraits of herself. While her husband was alive, he absolutely would not give his supportive consent to her checking this off as one more thing done....nor would consider photographing her...his loss to be sure....Her husband died when she was 74. He had always felt that photographing the naked body was somehow pornographic and found images in any genre of that nature to be in poor taste and a reflection of character as lewd and without morals Geeeez!!! Long story short, at the age of 76 she decided to take one more thing off the bucket list and I had the honor and the privilege of being selected to help with the check mark.
In the midst of the conversation during the session she said with a voice of positive conviction " ya know something Mr.Edwards, if being naked is pornographic and a sinful thing then every natural living soul is born into this world from an act of pornography, because I felt my husband had a very sexy body and I'm sure he felt i must have looked pretty good to...because we had seven children and every corner of our house after the nest was clear, more than once a week was witness know what I mean" All I could do was nod and say, Yes I know what you mean and I would venture to say that it was a good thing and he was a very lucky man......perhaps there is still hope for the human race. So I'll just keep doing what I'm doing.....real people like her, inspire me.
I need to start a blog.

If one believes in God then how can the beauty of the body be shameful and wrong.
If on the other hand one believes evolution then look at the results of a million years of refinement to what we have become…graceful, sensual, primal and beautiful as a species. to deny either as a beautiful outcome / result is to deny our intrinsic instincts of appreciating our existence.
As artists, both model and photographer strive to perfect the expression, creativity and wonder of what SHOULD be something that is perfectly natural.
There are the segments of our cultures and societies through their own insecurities continue to demonize, ridicule and cajole artists into believing they are creating art that is an abomination / of a pornographic nature.
Those that would have us question the gifts of our creativity and the thirst of our desire to do so would lay claim to not only your sanity and heart but also your soul as well.
If you are touched and aroused by what is created so be it…if you are troubled by it, so be it……it can then mean only one thing….the artists have succeeded
